Dr. Oliver L. Hunt, 79, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at his home in Waynesboro, VA, after a short illness.
He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Upon leaving the Navy, he graduated from North Greenville Junior College, Furman University, and Clemson University, earning a PhD in Physical Chemistry.
In 1963, he moved his family to Waynesboro, VA. He went to work at DuPont as a research chemist, retiring in 1985.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Campbell Hunt; two children, Denise Hunt Gray and Dr. Rodney Hunt; a granddaughter, Jennifer Clagg; and a great granddaughter, Erin Clagg. Besides his family, he had numerous friends who will honor his memory.
The family will have visitation at McDow Funeral Home, 1701 West Main Street, Waynesboro, on Saturday, July 20, 2013 from 3:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
