Obituary

Alan Leon Angus, 74, of Lyndhurst, Virginia passed away on June 28, 2026. Born on January 18, 1952, he was the son of the late Davis and Vernie Angus. Alan graduated from Wilson Memorial High School in 1970 and from Virginia Tech in 1976 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry and Wildlife. He spent most of his life working as a carpenter. Alan was an avid Virginia Tech fan and watched the Hokies in sporting events whenever he could. He also loved animals, especially dogs. He leaves behind his beloved companion, Strider, who greatly misses him.

Alan is survived by four sisters, Wanda Mays and Trish McKinney (Rick) of Lyndhurst, Debbie Angus of Staunton, and Stephanie Quick of Waynesboro; one nephew, Josh Angus and a grand nephew, Carson Angus of Lyndhurst, and one niece, Affton Quick and a grand niece, Adasyn Spears, of Staunton. He also leaves behind a special friend, Debbie Cash and her grandson Kelsen of Vesuvius.

Alan’s wish upon passing was not to have a funeral service. In honor of him, memorial contributions can be made to the Wildlife Center of Virginia or the American Cancer Society.
