Annie M. Finley passed peacefully on Wednesday November 4, 2020 at her daughters home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Annie had resided in Myrtle Beach, S.C. for the last 18 months due to health issues. Previously Annie had been a resident of Stuarts Draft, Va. for 45 years.
Annie was a true matriarch who loved her family dearly and was cherished by her friends.. Annie was an avid sun worshipper and loved to dance. Her favorite color was red and that reflected in how she lived her life, bold and full of passion. She was always a caregiver in her professional life and retired as a Psychiatric Aide at Western State Hospital.
Annie was born in Warrenton, Va. to the late David E. and Rosie ( Williams) McClanahan.
Surviving Annie is her loving partner, soul-mate and best friend of 38 years Kenneth Fainter of Stuarts Draft, Va. Her Daughter and Daughter-In-Law Michele and Dee MacWelch of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and son Bruce Fainter of Stuarts Draft, Va.. Grandchildren are: Pepsi Pearson (Billy) of Warrenton, Va., Brandy Comer of Stuarts Draft, Va., Jeremy Gilmer (Hannah) of Cotter, Ar., Caleb Gilmer (Annalia) of Hayden, Co. and Chris Hull of Myrtle Beach, S.C.. Annie had five great grandchildren and just recently had become a great-great grandmother.
Special survivors are Dan Gilmer of Hayden, Co., and The Morris Family of Afton, Va.: Colter, Julie, Cole and Maddie and her fur-grandchild Gracie MacWelch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Perry L. Finley, daughter Robin L. Gilmer and sisters Patsy W. McClanahan, Betty Payne Humes and Doris L. Norris. Her fur-babies and fur-grandchildren; Tiny, Reebok, Tak, Peanut and most recently Rosie.
There will be a graveside service at Augusta Memorial Park at 11:00 am, on Monday November 9, 2020 that is open to all. Pastor David Vaughan will officiate, pallbearers will be Corky Bradley, John Sipe, Jim Almarode, Bob Elia, Colter and Cole Morris. Facial masks and social distancing is required.
