Arnett Wayne Tomey, 91 of Waynesboro, departed this life peacefully at home February 4, 2023.

Arnett was born on February 27, 1931 in West Virginia, a son of the late Harley A. and Daisy Mae Osborn Tomey. He was one of five children.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Eugene Tomey and Harley A. Tomey Jr. and a sister, Betty Lee Tomey Koontz.

Arnett graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1949. After graduation, he attended Bridgewater College for a year before entering the United States Air Force and served his country four years. He graduated in 1960 from the Medical College of Virginia, receiving a degree from the School of Pharmacy.  Arnett and his eldest brother, Harley were co-owners of Haney's Pharmacy in Waynesboro.

Arnett was an accomplished pharmacist and always put his customers and those who worked for him first. He was a loving husband, brother, uncle, cousin and good friend to all.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Judy Akins Tomey and his sister, Janet Tomey Teter and her husband Frank Teter. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at McDow Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Arnett's life.
