Obituary

Audra Ferguson Bean Brodowicz passed away on Tuesday Dec 20, 2022, at her daughter's home in North Carolina after several years of battling dementia.

Audra was born November 21, 1938, in Winchester, Virginia, daughter of the late Roland Ferguson and Mary Powell Bean

She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Walter S. Brodowicz; and sister, Patricia B. Bergman.

Survivors include her sons, Mark E. Brodowicz (Wife-Carla), Michael S. Brodowicz (wife-Lorie) and daughter Gretchen M. Brodowicz; six grandchildren, CJ (wife-Kelly), Jack, Joshua, Benjamin, Audra Lynn, and Matthew; one great grandson, Jude. Her sisters Jewel North, Robin Thomas (Husband-Barry), brother-in-law Erwin Bergman and sister-in-law Florence Brodowicz; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Audra was a graduate of Warren County High School in Front Royal, Va. and Madison College (now JMU). She taught at Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center (WWRC) from 1960-1969 and Waynesboro High School from 1969-1994.  Audra was a very active member of the community serving on numerous boards as well as an active member of St. John's Catholic Church.

Audra's hobbies included knitting, bowling, playing bridge, gardening and canning. Her willingness to help others throughout the community went above and beyond.

However, it was the love for her grandkids that brought her the most joy, making numerous weekly road-trips with Walt to spend time with them and watch any sport or school program.  Family was everything to Audra.

A special thanks to Renee, who for the last 10 months provided excellent care and companionship.
