Barry Russell Shifflett, 48, of Waynesboro, Virginia, passed away on October 19, 2026.

Barry was born on November 6th, 1977 in Augusta County. He graduated from Wilson Memorial High School and completed additional higher education courses at colleges in Virginia and Maine. Barry worked in the manufacturing and distribution sectors and was most recently employed by Walmart and Danone North America.

Barry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. He also had a passion for baseball, and the family fondly remembers many summers spent at the ball diamond watching Barry play. Barry passed along his love of the game to his daughter and son, and one of his greatest joys was practicing hitting and catching in the backyard with his children and watching them play for their elementary school. Barry also loved animals, particularly dogs, and adopted many rescue pups throughout his life.

Barry is survived by his wife Christina (Connelley) Shifflett; daughter, Berkley Ann; son, Evin Russell; parents, John C. and Lois (Sutton) Shifflett and sister Stacey Shifflett.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources or the Augusta Regional SPCA in Barry’s memory.
