Our Sweet Betty entered Heaven's Portal at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Hospice House, Fishersville, VA.

Betty was born September 24, 1948 in Staunton, Virginia to Murray M and Mary Belle Hite Miller.

Betty was active in her church, West Waynesboro Church of Christ, as a Sunday School teacher and sang in the Adult Choir. She was a former member of the Waynesboro Junior Women's Club.  Her greatest claim was being a Hairdresser for over 45 years.  She dearly loved her clientele and considered them as true friends.  There was a group of hairdressers that met for lunch once a month, if possible, for over 12 years

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Murray M. (Bucky) Miller.

Survivors include her husband, Charlie W. Barnes, of over 45 years, a sister, Mary Cox (Douglas) of Staunton, VA , two sons, Scott Allen of Glen Allen, VA and Mark Allen (Christy) of Waynesboro, VA.; four grandchildren.  Madison Allen, Norfolk, VA, Michael Allen. Glen Allen, Va., Brooke Allen, Glen Allen, VA., Jacob Allen, Waynesboro, VA.  In addition she is survived by sisters in-law, Donna Andrews (Ronnie), Deerfield, VA. Mary Barnes Creswell, NC, Margaret Furlough (John), Greenville, NC, brother-in-law Ronnie Barnes (Daphne) Creswell, NC.  Numerous nieces and nephews.  Daughters-in-law Michele Allen and Carrie McClung.

Betty had three Donna's in her family she was very close to:  Donna Baldwin, Donna Knight and Donna Andrews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, February 11, 2022, at West Waynesboro Church of Christ, 2212 Cortland St., Waynesboro VA. Pastor Luke Smith from Linden Heights Baptist Church, Staunton, VA will be conducting. Interment will follow in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall.
