Betty Jeanette
Mcclanahan Mullins
Aug 9, 1935 — Apr 15, 2026
Crimora
Betty Jeanette Mullins, 90 passed away on Wednesday April 15th, 2026 in Fishersville
She was the daughter of the late Frenchman and the late Mabel (Roark) McClanahan of Yukon, West Virginia.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband William R. Mullins; granddaughter Kelsey L. Kauffman; daughter, Georgia JoAnn Hernandez; siblings, Bruce, Aeril, Bill and Carroll and grandchildren Brandy and Jena.
Betty attended the Crimora Methodist Church and owned a Beauty Salon in Staunton for many years. Along with her husband Bill, they owned Crimora Grocery for over 25 years. After selling that store, together they opened 3B Restaurant/Auction House but soon afterward, changed it into a grocery store.
Betty's true love was to have many flower gardens around her home. Along with flowers, a vegetable garden was also her specialty. No one could ever surpass her 7 ft tomato or 7 ft cucumber plants! The best eatin' in Crimora in the summertime ever, with the prettiest view. We cannot forget the green beans!
Other than her family and gardening, oil painting was another of her passions. You would know this if you ever visited Betty. While Betty had a beauty shop in Staunton in their home, she took oil painting art glasses and caught on quickly. She had a true hidden talent. The walls in her home were filling up quickly with beautiful pieces of art.
Surviving her are son Phil and his wife Yvonne Mullins; daughter, Candace and her husband Michael Ferguson; grandchildren, Christina(David), Frankie, Talia (Matt), Brenna (Tristian), Hunter (Megan) and several great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. at McDow Funeral Home Saturday April 18th, 2026 officiated by Pastor Richard Grendahl. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers are Hunter Kauffman, David King, Michael Ferguson, Jacob Fowler, Zach Fowler and Sean Fitzgerald.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the entire staff of Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
