Beverley Anne McDonald Via passed away peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2023, after an extended illness. Beverley was born in the Bethel area of Rockingham County July 13, 1937, the daughter of Grover and Mary McDonald. She was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers Philip McDonald, Gary McDonald and Stephen McDonald, her husband H. Calvin Via, and three children Jonathan Scott Harman, Rebecca Anne Harman and Clay Andrew Harman.

Beverley is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Dale Mace of Grottoes, sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Vicki Harman of Waynesboro, and Chris Harman and Joi Brown of Waynesboro, her grandchildren: Jason Faust, Scotty Harman, Justin Harman, Jonathan Harman, Lucas Harman, Rebecca Mace and Cody Harman, as well as 11 great grandchildren.

Beverley lived for her beach trips. However, she worked for many years and retired from E.I. duPont de Nemours in Waynesboro. Those who knew Beverley will not be surprised to learn that in 1972, she was the only woman working in her section of the plant and taking it all in stride. In addition, she was not content to ride on the back of a motorcycle – she had her own. Beverley was one of a kind and a woman ahead of her time.

A graveside service will be held on October 19th at 11:00 am at Mossy Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Cat's Cradle in Harrisonburg, VA (www.catscradleva.org).
