Carol Julia Morris, born April 20,1941, went home to her heavenly Father on Oct 29,2022.
Carol was born to George J. Flint and Statia E. Flint in the town of Derby, Connecticut.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Stanley E. Maupin, and brother, William Flint. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Donald B. Morris; children, Jacqueline Sims (Monty), Kevin J. Maupin (Shelly); stepdaughter, Jennifer M. Lasam; grandchildren, Courtney Ellison (Gordon), Kelsey and Keri Sims, Nicholas and Cyrus Lasam, Britttany Williams (Brandon) and Hannah Zudilin (Arsentiy); great grandchildren, Vera Evelyn Zudilin, Tripp Ellison, Nash and Halen Williams.
Carol was a registered nurse, retiring after 35 years of service from the Central Shenandoah Health District. After retirement she was employed most recently at the Daily Living Center in Waynesboro. Carol served in many voluntary roles including Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity, Hospice of the Shenandoah, American Heart Association, Augusta Regional Clinic, and many others.
Carol had many outside interests. She was an avid reader, loved traveling the United States from Hawaii to Alaska, from the east to the west coast and all points between. Her favorite overseas destination was Italy. Carol loved gardening and especially her flowers, but Carol's favorite activity of all was the spoiling of her grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Jeff Flint, Michael Brown, Nicholas and Cyrus Lasam, Greg Flint, Don Chadwick, and Gordon Ellison. Honorary pallbearers are Carol's co-workers from the Central Shenandoah Health District.
Visitation will be from 5-7pm Monday Nov,7,2022 at McDow Funeral Home in Waynesboro. Following a private burial, a memorial service officiated by Pastor Linda Kusse Wolfe will be held at 12:30 pm Tuesday Nov 8, 2022 at Main Street United Methodist Church, Waynesboro. A reception will immediately follow in the church fellowship hall.
Memorial contributions may be made to the food pantry at Main Street United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, the Augusta Health Foundation, Fishersville, and/or the American Heart Association.
