Connie Sue Skidmore Carpenter, 70, of Stuarts Draft, Virginia passed away peacefully on November 18, 2023, succumbing to dementia.  After working for many years at Trojan Steel in Charleston, WV, Connie, and her family moved to Moorehead City, NC. After the birth of her son, Mark, she spent most of her time and energy raising them. They moved from Moorehead to Stuarts Draft in 2000.  Connie was a doting mother and wife and spent her life caring for those she loved.

Connie was predeceased by her father Allen Skidmore and her mother Roberta Riley Skidmore. She is survived by her husband Glen Carpenter, her son Mark Glen Allen Carpenter, her sister Nancy Skidmore Taylor, her nieces Kathryn Fell, Bethany Taylor, and Rachel Taylor, and her nephew Sean Taylor.  Her humor and kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
