Coy departed this earth on Thursday, February 13, 2025.  He was born October 4, 1938 to John D. Anderson Sr. and Margaret Dameron Anderson.  He was preceeded in death by his parents and his wife Jo Anne Gray Anderson and sister Dora Mae Caprye and brothers John D. Anderson Jr and Clifton Anderson.

Coy took great pride in his family, work ethic and farming.  In his younger years Coy was a skilled contractor who built many homes throughout the community. In his retirement years, he spent tireless hours farming and caring for his cows. Coy will forever be remembered as a family legacy who passed down his love and talent for construction to his grandson and great grandson. To many Coy seemed like a very tough man, but always had a heart of gold when it came to his family.  His children knew they could always count on him.

He is survived by his special friend Bobbie Smith, daughters Kim Mayo (Billy), Denise Thompson (Jeff). Grandchildren, Shane Mayo, Kelly Brown (Fred), Emily Thompson and Stephanie Thompson. Great grandchildren, Karsen, Kendreck, Camden, Anderson Cooper, Delanie, Marley, Emersen, Kameron and Kassidy, and special nephew, Mike Beasley.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, February 17, 2025 at McDow Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 in Hebron Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Fred Brown, Kendreck Brown, Anderson Cooper Mayo, Jeff Coffey, Colter Morris and Russell Fitzgerald.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Via, Gary Keith, Gary Bryant and Craig Campbell.
