Curtis Patterson Foltz, 67, a resident of Waynesboro, VA, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022 at work.
He was born March 22, 1955 in Wytheville, VA, a son of the late George Clayton Foltz and Jemima Cassell (Patterson) Foltz.
He attended New River Community College, Virginia Tech, and graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management from Oklahoma State University. His career spanned 40 years in construction, starting out as a laborer in Southwest Virginia and continuing as a Construction Estimator with A.S. McGaughan in Bethesda, MD. Later, he worked for Doyle Construction in Alexandria, VA and R.E. Lee & Sons in Charlottesville for 23 years. Curtis briefly worked for F.E.M.A. in Albany, NY. More recently, he worked for Innovative Construction Concepts in Charlottesville. As a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, he was known for his service with the Summerlee Work Project (an annual housing rehabilitation mission trip in Fayette County, WV). One of his joys was attending NCAA March Madness with his boys and traveling with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Alberta Boyd Foltz, Winfree Arrington Foltz and her husband Sebastian Bellomo; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Jelliff and Woodrow Wilson Tucker.
Surviving are his wife of 41years, Margaret (Nutt) Foltz of Waynesboro; 2 sons, Richard Altaffer Foltz and Andrew Walker Foltz; 2 daughters, Elizabeth Virginia Foltz Hendrix and husband Todd Matthew Hendrix, Suzanne Patterson Foltz and boyfriend Richard James Stephens; brother, George "Buddy" Clayton Foltz and wife Carolyn Ann (Dalton) Foltz; sister, Mary Jemima Foltz Tucker; sister-in-law, Evelyn Nutt Jelliff; 5 nephews; and 1 niece.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM Thursday, June 16 th at McDow Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 17 th at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Kelly Kaufman and Christian Educational Director, John Tindall officiating. Interment will take place at St. Paul Cemetery in Weyers Cave. It is asked that those attending please wear bright colored shirts, such as Hawaiian, Summerlee Work Project shirts, or t-shirts of your favorite sports team.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1904 Mt. Vernon Street, Waynesboro, VA 22980, or to the Summerlee Work Project of the church.
