Lila Cynthia Estes Jordan, age 81, of Waynesboro, VA went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on
Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at the Memory Care Unit of The Retreat at Fishersville, Va.

She was born January 27, 1941 in Charlottesville, Virginia to the late John C. Estes and Lila W. Estes. She
graduated from Orange County High School, Orange, VA and completed pre-veterinary medical
requirements at Va. Tech before graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in Veterinary
Medicine in 1965. While at VA Tech she met her future husband and they were married December 23,
1962. Following graduation, she worked for a year in research at the Animal Science Lab at Va. Tech
before moving to Waynesboro, VA in 1966.

She was preceded in death by a son, David Robert; a sister, Carla McDevitt; and a brother, John C. Estes.
Surviving are her husband of almost 60 years, Robert E. Jordan; two daughters and sons-in-law,
Catherine J. and Saul Bejarano of Waynesboro, VA; and Martha S. and John T.R. Lawrence of
Wynnewood, PA; daughter-in-law Zoe, of Currituck, NC; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Doris Ann
and James H. Gwaltney of Suffolk, VA; and seven grandchildren: Rachel M. Jordan of Harrisonburg, VA;
Alex, Ethan and Aaron Bejarano of Waynesboro, VA; and Ella, Addie and Mallory Lawrence of
Wynnewood, PA. She was also "Aunt Cynthia" to many nieces and nephews.

She was a woman of many talents, becoming an excellent seamstress as a teenager and later operating
her own decorative flag business. She was an avid reader and spent many hours in Bible study over the
years. She was a wonderful wife and the consummate mother to her three children. While very
successful as a mother, she would go on to greater heights as a grandmother, the ultimate role she was
born to fulfill. Pride in and love for her grandchildren knew no bounds, with the feelings being mutual.
While her strength deserted her and dementia took her memory, nothing could ever diminish her
unselfish devotion to her family and her church.

A Memorial Service will be held at Glovier Memorial U.M.C. in Waynesboro, VA at 11 a.m. on Saturday,
