Daniel "Danny" Davis, 72, a resident of Waynesboro, VA, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the University of Virginia Medical Center surrounded by his wife and loving family.
He was born June 20, 1950, in Charlottesville, VA, a son of the late Austin and Ethel (Dudley) Davis.
In 1973, he founded Davis Construction & Masonry, a business that continues to thrive under the leadership of his family. Danny took great pride in his work, and it showed. He truly never met a stranger, and all that knew him would be left with smiles and laughter. He especially loved hosting an annual July 4 th celebration at his home, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing poker with his buddies, and playing slot machines, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Thomas Davis.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 53 years, Brenda Davis; sons, Charlie Davis and wife Sharon, Casey Davis and wife Tammy; granddaughter, Emilee Lam and husband Preston; grandson, Shane Davis and girlfriend Samantha; great-grandchildren, Baylor and Cooper Lam; brother, Richard Davis and wife Betty; and a special sister-in-law Judy Henderson; numerous nieces and nephews; and friends without number.
The family will receive friends from 4 PM until 8 PM Monday, June 27 th at Wayne Hills Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life in honor of Danny will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, June 28 th at the church.
Memorial Contributions may be made in his name to the Dooms Volunteer Fire Department.
The family would like to thank the UVA 4 North Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU for taking such wonderful care of Danny and the family. The compassion and kindness the nurses and staff showed are so appreciated and will never be forgotten.
