David Lee Hicks, 77, of Crozet, Virginia, passed away March 25, 2025 at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, following a long illness.

He was born in Montgomery, West Virginia and graduated from Gauley Bridge (WV) High School.   He was an Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War.  He attended Twin City Bible Church, and Piney Mountain Bible Chapel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Effie Hicks; brother, Alvin Hicks, and an infant brother.

He is survived by his nephew, Tim and Jenny Hicks of Afton, VA; Nieces Sandy and Greg Young of Charleston, WV and Shelly and Eric Tissenbaum of Nitro, WV;   Sister in Law, Evelyn Hicks of Nitro, WV;  Great Nephews Alex Hicks, Ben Tissenbaum, Josh Hicks, Sam Tissenbaum, Great Nieces Hannah Tissenbaum and Sarah Stackhouse;  Great-great nieces Raygen and Debra.  Many other family and friends also survive him.

A local memorial service is being planned for a near future date.  Interment is planned at the Donel C Kinnard Veteran's Cemetery in West Virginia.
