Obituary

Del G. Agee Jr, 60, of Waynesboro, died Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at his home surrounded with loved ones.

He was born May 4, 1965, in Waynesboro, the son of Delmer G. Agee and Hazel "Beth" Pace Agee.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth "Betsy" Agee, daughter, Morgan Castello and husband, Nathan Castello; son, Clay "Boo" Agee; 3 grandchildren, Aiden Coiner, Remi Agee, and Dhruv Agee; baby brother, Mike Agee and wife Diana Agee; older brother, David Boling and wife Karen Boling; sister in-law, Debbie Boling; many loving nieces and nephews, cherished dogs Coco and Louie, a large extended family at Innovative Refrigeration, and a lifetime of friends and teammates.

Preceding him in death are his father, Delmer, his mother, Beth, and his oldest brother, Stephen Boling.

Del and Betsy met while attending Virginia Tech.  They were married in 1988 following graduation, and committed their lives to Christ and their family for 37 wonderful years.

He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Papa Del."  Also one of four loving brothers, "Brother Del" lived life with a sense of urgency and inspiration.  Friends and teammates knew him as 'D-Mar' and were drawn to his courage and resilience.  An inspiration to all, he overcame the odds time and again throughout his eight-year battle with cancer.  Del, "Papa Del", "Brother Del", "D-Mar", will be sorely missed and remain in our hearts forever.

He was a competitor and drawn to sports.  At age 16 Del won the Men's Club Championship at Waynesboro Country Club.  He was a six-time letterman at Stuarts Draft High School, helping the 1982-83 Varsity Basketball team to an undefeated district season and one of the best overall records in school history.  That same senior year, Del led the Varsity Golf Team to it's first-ever VHSL A State Championship finishing second individually.  He is one of four Stuarts Draft HS athletes mentioned by name in the VHSL book of records.  Del played Varsity Golf for two years at Bridgewater College before completing his degree at Virginia Tech.

Mr. Agee was a member of Fishersville United Methodist Church in Fishersville.
