Musician and retired welder, Donald Lee Harwley's love of life didn't come to an end with his passing as he is now with his heavenly father. Donnie passed away on April 14, 2022 at the age of 75, after a courageous battle with colon cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Donnie was an avid hunter and fisherman. He always enjoyed nature and what nature had to offer. In recent years he enjoyed painting and bird watching. Donnie's pride was in his children and grandchildren.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Donnie. He loved a musical evening with family and friends with a beer in hand. He enjoyed camping and found beauty in the spring flowers. His comical personality was always making someone smile. He was a storyteller to his final days.

Donnie is preceded in death by his Mother, Ruby Lee Harwley and his father, Virgil Lee Harwley. He is survived by his son Michael; son Jeremy (Rhonda); daughter Michelle; daughter Jennifer (DJ) and his grandchildren Sierra, Savannah, Leila, Aubrielle, John-Luke, Heather, Kayla, Mackenzie, Charley and 3 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. April 22, 2022 at McDow Funeral Home 1701 West Main Street, Waynesboro, Virginia.
