Master Chief Petty Officer Ret., Early Nicholson Fisher, Jr. of Waynesboro, VA
passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021.
Born April 4, 1937 in Waynesboro, VA he was a son of the late Early N. and Katie E. Fisher.
Early, known by his family and friends as "Bo" served his Country with pride and honor by joining the US
Navy at the age of 17. He spent 20 years and 6 days seeing the world. He exceled in his duties and rose
to rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. Other than his family, that was his proudest accomplishment.
After he retired from the US Navy, he took his leadership and skills and started a second career at the
University of VA keeping the boiler plant in tip top operational shape.
He was predeceased by 2 sons: William J. Fisher and Ricky L. Sudduth. 5 sisters: Virginia Smith, Letty
Wood, Bessie Arey, Joyce McDougal and Darlene McConkey and by 3 brothers: Robert Fisher, James D.
Fisher and Wayne Fisher.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: daughter, Prudence M. Fisher; son, Early N. Fisher III;
daughter Tammy R. Smith. He is also survived by his brother, Donald R. Fisher and wife Joyce of
Waynesboro, VA. He also leaves behind, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
