Eddie Edwards of Staunton passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Augusta Health due to complications from myasthenia gravis.

He was born December 5, 1937 in Waynesboro, Virginia, the son of the late Madge Snyder Edwards and Edwin A. Edwards.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frances and Frank Snyder.  He was raised by his grandparents after the death of his mother in 1940.  Mr. Edwards' first wife, Betty Harlow Edwards, preceded him in death in 1984.

Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline Dull (Leslie); grandchildren, Melanie Dull (Anthony) and Nicholas Dull; and two special cousins, Donald Hanger (Sue), and Thomas Hanger (Joyce).

Mr. Edwards retired from Waynesboro DuPont with thirty-six years of service.  He continued at DuPont another fourteen years with 2CH2MHill.  He was also a life-long member of First Baptist Church, Staunton, where he served on several committees, taught Sunday school, was a deacon and Deacon Emeritus.  He also served on the Salvation Army Board and was very involved with the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport.

Mr. Edwards was cremated.  There will be a private family gathering at a later date.  His family invites you to celebrate Eddie by doing the things he enjoyed.  Read a mystery, fly somewhere warm and sunny, or listen to some really great music.  The family would like to thank the staff at Augusta Health and McDow Funeral Home for the kindness and excellent care shown to Mr. Edwards.
