Eileen Rose Allen Wright, 88, a resident of Waynesboro, VA, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022 at Waynesboro Manor.

She was born July 4, 1934 in Milwaukee, WI, a daughter of the late Robert Chester and Helen Rita (Kelley) Allen.

Eileen received her BA degree from Marquette University, and worked for 23 years with the Army Times Publishing Company, Washington, DC. She was a housekeeper and petsitter for many families in the Waynesboro area over many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Wright; and step-sons, Harold Carl Wright and Freddie Belmonte Wright.

She leaves a sister, Julia Rogge of NYC, NY; a brother, Robert "Bob" Allen, Jr. of Huntsville, AL; a step-son, John (Janet) Wright; a step-daughter-in-law, Sharon Wright of Galloway, NJ; 3 nephews, Rob (Jaida) Allen, David Allen, and Chris Rogge; a niece, Kelly (Drew) Gentry; grand nieces, Katie and Courtney Allen; and a grand step-daughter, Nancy Stout.

She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Waynesboro, VA, and a member of AA with over 50 years of sobriety.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 at 1:00 PM at St. John's Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Francis Xavier Musolooza. A reception will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. John's Catholic Church; Augusta County Regional SPCA; or the Valley Mission in Staunton, VA.
