Erma C. Morris, 94, passed away to be with the Lord Thursday, July 21, 2022.  She was born July 31, 1927, in Harriston, VA.

She is the daughter of Kenneth R. Claytor and Ada Belle Claytor.

Erma is predeceased by her husband, Hollis M. Morris; four brothers, Edward L. Claytor, Harry O. Claytor, Andrew S. Claytor, and Oscar B. Claytor; and five sisters, Lorine B. Zimmerman, Edna E. Claytor, Virginia Matthew, Hazel McCauley, and Gladys Martin.

She is survived by two daughters, Lorie M. Smith and husband Robert F. Smith, III, and Gailen M. Yancey and husband Stephen C. Yancey. Erma has been blessed with four grandchildren, David 'Kyle' Smith, Lauren E. Smith, Hunter C. Yancey, and Witt M. Yancey.

Erma is also survived by her special niece, Nancy Z. Shapiro, and husband Lewis N. Shapiro.  She will be dearly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Erma was a Charter member of Wayne Hills Baptist Church.  She held special memories in her heart of her friends in Christ.

Erma enjoyed a long and full life surrounded by special friends and family.  Her daughters and their families were the center of her world.  She will be remembered as a loving and compassionate lady full of energy and life.  Erma had a special place in her heart for Virginia C. Spradlin, best friend and neighbor.  She will be missed by many but eternally loved by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held at River View Cemetery, 420 Rosser Avenue, Waynesboro, VA, on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 11:00 A.M.

Contributions may be made to Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, 64 Sports Medicine Drive, Fishersville, VA 22939 in lieu of flowers.
