Eugene Maxie Allen, 89, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on January 27, 2022.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene M. "Hoot" and Ethel Allen; brothers, Dennis Allen and Glenn Allen; sisters, Louise Fitzgerald and Verna Daughtery; son, Randy Allen; and son-in-law, Wendell Halterman.

Maxie is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pearl Allen; daughters, Patricia Halterman of Crimora and Dorinda Rosen and husband, Scott, of Verona; and son, E. Marcus and wife, Sherri, of Waynesboro.  Maxie also has 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Maxie was a member of Fishersville Baptist Church for thirty years.  He retired from General Electric/Genicom after over thirty years of employment.  His great love for bluegrass music was a family tradition and he enjoyed playing the guitar, fiddle, banjo, and mandolin.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Fishersville Baptist Church.  Pastor Steve Lookabaugh will be officiating.  Friends and family will be received at the church fellowship hall from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm.  Lunch will be provided.  A graveside ceremony will be conducted at 2:00 pm at Calvary United Methodist Church cemetery in Stuarts Draft.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fishersville Baptist Church or the Stuarts Draft Rescue Squad.
