Evelyn Gay Brooks of Vesuvius, Virginia passed away on March 23, 2022 with family by her side.

She was born on March 28, 1942 to the late Joseph I. Reynolds and Leeldia Margaret Reynolds. She was preceded in death by her husband James Hersey Brooks; sons, Mark  Reynolds, Kevin A. Hubbard; brother, Truman Reynolds; sisters, Nancy Asbury, Gloria Gibson, Patricia Smith; brother-in-law Walter Knicely.

Evelyn is survived by her son Keith Reynolds (Kimberly); daughter Susan Foreman; brothers, Josey Reynolds (Margaret), John Wayne Reynolds; sister Josephine Knicely; Grandchildren Kayla Foreman, Buddy Flynn, Christopher Fitzgerald (Melissa), Amanda Mendoza (Manurilio), Tiffany Reynolds, Trevor Terrell, Brett Jenkins (Sabrina); 9 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She retired from Con Agra with 30 years of service.  Evelyn worked at Vector industries and as a caregiver for Home Health Care. She enjoyed caring for people nearing the end of their life.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in the chapel of McDow Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Glen Holman.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons; Christopher Fitzgerald, Buddy Flynn, Trevor Terrell, Brett Jenkins; great grandsons, Collin Fitzgerald and Alonzo Mendoza.

Burial will follow at Augusta memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions can be made to the Hospice of the Shenandoah.
