Evie Quinn O'Brien, 80, a resident of Waynesboro, VA, passed away Saturday April 24, 2021 at Augusta Health Hospital.

She was born July 13, 1940 in Rome, GA, a daughter of the late John Calvin Quinn and Mannie Sue (Bigham) Quinn.

Evie is a graduate of Armuchee High school and Berry College in Rome, Georgia where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology.  Following her graduation from Berry College she earned her Medical Technician's certification from Crawford W. Long Hospital in Atlanta. While advancing her career, Evie was a loving mother who dedicated her life to helping others.  She was an active participant in the Waynesboro League of Women Voters where she also served as President for two years.

Following in tradition of her mother and grandmother, Evie then pursued a career in nursing. She continued her education at Blue Ridge Community College in their nursing program where she earned her RN.  Her professional nursing career included working as a floor nurse at Waynesboro Community Hospital and then at Augusta Health as a Home Health Supervisor.

Surviving are her loving husband of 58 years, Michael H. O'Brien of Waynesboro; son, Stephen Michael O'Brien and his wife Wendy of Williamsburg, VA; daughter, Scarlett Elizabeth Slack and her husband Gregory of Derry, NH; grandchildren, Alden Nelson Slack and fiancé Lauren Bleskoski, Avery Michael Slack, Mariah Paige Marchant, and Ethan Hunter Marchant; great-grandchild, Ellie Grace Slack; and sister, Shirley Elston of Rome, GA.

In keeping with her family's wishes, all services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made in Evie's name to The National Spasmodic Torticollis Association.
