Obituary

Florence Gwendolyn Kluttz Myers, fondly known as Flossie to her friends and family, passed away to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at age 91.

Flossie was born on August 8, 1931 in Waynesboro, Virginia. She spent most of her childhood in North Carolina and returned to the Waynesboro area as a teenager. She was the daughter of Charles and Mary Kluttz and the sister to Roger Kluttz, Charlie Kluttz, Frances Kluttz Murdock, Quentin Kluttz, Ruth Kluttz Thomas, and Martha Kluttz, all who preceded her in death.

Flossie is survived by her husband of 73 years, Glenn Edward Myers, whom she married on July 9, 1949 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waynesboro, Virginia. She is also survived by her daughter Glenna Hale and husband Bill, and her daughter Terrie Snyder and husband Denny; grandchildren Chase Hale and wife Ada, Tara Snyder and partner Matt Blackwell, Nathan Hale and wife Charity, and Krista Hailey and husband Junior; great-grandchildren Makiah Bannan, Taryn Barrett, Taylor Barrett, Jay Johnson, Jakai Johnson, Charlie Hale, Stella Hale, Kaleb Blackwell, Mason Hale, Eliza Hale, Maddox Hale, Mallory Hale, Ayden Hailey, and Alexa Hailey; great-greatgrandchildren Charlee Bannan and Kristian Bannan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Flossie's primary occupation and love was being a mother, grandmother, and homemaker for her family. As a young lady and until her final days, Flossie held a special place in her heart for children. As a longtime member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, she served the Lord in many ways; including, teaching children's Sunday school, helping with summer bible school, and serving as a member of the altar guild and women's group.

She enjoyed activities such as knitting, embroidery, bowling, and playing bridge. Flossie loved camping at Stoney Creek, VA, vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC, and square dancing with her husband Glenn.

Flossie wished to be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, faithful church member, and one who loved music and dancing. She cherished going to her grandchildren's birthday parties, school programs, and athletic events.

She was tenderly loved and will be greatly missed, but her family takes great comfort in knowing that Flossie is home with the Lord Jesus Christ. A celebration of life will be held at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waynesboro, VA on Thursday December 8, 2022 at 12:00 noon.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Meadows at Stuarts Draft Retirement Community & Christian Homes and Legacy Hospice for their loving care and compassion for Flossie.
