Frances Louise (Quick) Blackwell

Frances Louise (Quick) Blackwell, 94, a former resident of Waynesboro, Virginia, passed away Sunday morning, July 19, 2026 at Birch Gardens Assisted Living.

She was born August 15, 1931 in Albemarle County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Craig Overton Quick and Nellie Weade (Kennedy) Quick.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Blackwell and her grandson, Steven Short.

Frances is survived by her children, Debra Faught (Warren), Beverly Short, William Blackwell (Donna), Steve Baker, and Sterlin Blackwell (Nancy); grandchildren, Kaitey, Nick, Justin, Kayla, Nicole, Matt, and Allison; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was an avid gardener who spent hours tending to her work. Frances held a special place in her heart for her beagles.

There will be no formal visitation at McDow Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday July 24, 2026 at Augusta Memorial Park.
