Frances Eva (Carter) Bayne, 89, a resident of River Edge Nursing and Rehabilitation, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, October 30, 2025.
She was born August 29, 1936 in Waynesboro, Virginia, a daughter of the late Floyd Lee Carter and Mary (Bailey) Carter.
She loved bowling, bingo, camping, riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway, listening to Elvis, attending church, and seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Russell Charles Bayne, Sr.; a daughter, Joyce Elder and husband Roy; step-daughter, Vicki Cason; step-granddaughter, Amy Drumheller; and great-grandson, Cameron.
She is survived by her sons, Les Bayne (Linda), Dennis Bayne (Jennifer), and Cliff Bayne (Teresa); step-sons, Doug and Butch Bayne; daughters, Kathy Webster (Pete), Bonnie Knight (Rocky), Lisa Quattro (Steve), and Teresa Rohm (Jerry); 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm Monday evening, November 3rd at McDow Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 5th at 11:00 am Riverview Cemetery, officiated by Pastors Dan Wine, Brenda Via, and Rob Via. Active pallbearers will be Landon Masincup, Josh Bayne, Daniel Kinsinger, Kenny Guy, Stanley Bryant, and James Higgs.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice, RN Lauren, "A" Wing nursing staff at River Edge Nursing and Rehabilitation, RN Natasha Woodard, granddaughter Brittany Bayne, great-grandson Landon Masincup, great-granddaughter Decklyon, and the wonderful church family at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren.
