Frances (Frannie) Elizabeth Moyer Knicely, 87, a native of Waynesboro, Virginia, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter and son-in-law on March 29, 2026.

She was born to the late Virgil Albert Moyer, Sr. and Ruth McCune Moyer on March 24, 1939, in Waynesboro, Virginia.

Frannie attended Jackson Wilson School and graduated from Waynesboro High School where she excelled in academics, basketball, and field hockey. She worked as a Payroll Clerk for the Commissioner of Revenue Office, Waynesboro, Virginia, and later at Waynesboro District Home. Following her employment, Frannie most enjoyed her time as a full-time nanny for her two grandchildren.

Frannie was an active member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro, Virginia, where she cared for many children in the nursery. She will be remembered for a life rooted in love, generosity, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that bring people together. She also enjoyed watching many sporting events on TV and was an avid University of Virginia fan.

Frannie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry Lee "Bud" Knicely; four brothers, Jimmy Moyer, Reverend Dr. VA Moyer, Jr., Fred Moyer, and Joe Moyer; five sisters, Peggy Jones, Agnes Jones, Anne Broyles, Jean Brower, and Ellen Moyer; brothers-in-law, Gara Broyles, Carl Jones, Harry Jones, Jim Brower, and Neil Knicely; sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Moyer, Julie Moyer, Carol Knicely, and Judy Moyer;nephews, Brent Broyles, Eddie Jones, Mike Jones, and Steve Broyles; and niece, Pat Redden.

She is survived by her brother Robert (Bobby) Moyer; her children, Diane Lundstrom (Brian)and Todd Knicely (Alycia);grandchildren, Jeremy Lundstrom (Jace) and Hannah Comer (Ty); step-grandchildren, Keri Tillison and Kaleb Tillison(Emily); great-grandchildren, Juliette and Jameson Lundstrom, Carson Comer; sister-in-law, Minnie Moyer; many nieces, nephews, and step grandchildren; and her most caring canine companion, Duke.

A graveside service will be held at Riverview Cemetery, Waynesboro, Virginia, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
