Obituary

Helen "Pete" Margret Tompkins Hall of Fairfax Hall, Waynesboro, VA went to her heavenly home on Sunday, May22, 2022.

Helen was born in Burkeville, VA on January 3, 1939,to the late Roy Julian Tompkins and Martha Louise Shifflet Tompkins.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Michelle Herndon (John), Gordon Hall (Laura) and Teresa McKinney; her sisters, Mrs. Dale Welcher and Mrs.Kay Earven;, eight grandchildren, Ryan Herndon (Amanda), Johnna Herndon, Cole Herndon, Aaron Hall, Rachel Hall, Roy Glass (Jennifer), Raymond "Bubba" Glass (Lora) and Tucker Hall; nine great-grandchildren; her nieces, nephews, extended family and many special friends.

Helen was a graduate of Waynesboro High School and RPI in Richmond, VA.  She was a member of Oak Hill Methodist Church.

Helen was a strong and caring person.  She loved her family unconditionally.  She loved to cook and would be the first to help anyone in need.  She had a creative side which reflected in her knitting and crocheting.  There are many babies who received a special baby blanket from her.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to all of her special friends at Fairfax Hall.

A memorial service will be conducted  2:00 pm on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at McDow Funeral Home in Waynesboro, VA.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.
