In loving memory of Holly Addy Butler 75, of Afton Virginia. Holly passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday September 2, 2026.

Born on January 22, 1951 she was the daughter of the late Norman and Alice Addy of Mattituck New York.

Holly was preceded in death by her parents Norman and Alice Addy and her sister Sherry Hunt. Survivors include her devoted husband of 55 years Dale Butler, son Jason Butler, daughter Jessica (John) Rebert, granddaughters Kaitlyn and Emily Rebert as well as many brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews and too many friends to count.

Holly dedicated her life to helping people. Becoming a nurse in 1993, she specialized in oncology; not only helping her patients understand diagnosis and treatment but also helping their families navigates difficult times. After retiring, and moving to Virginia, to help care for her aging mother Holly became very involved in Rodes United Methodist Church. Through the church she helped support several organizations including the local food bank, local nursing homes and mission trips overseas. At the age of 75 Holly continued to keep her nursing license current so she could continue to help family and friends to the best of her ability. Her generosity extended beyond time

All those who had the privilege of interacting with Holly knew how loving and giving she was up until her very last day. Her wishes were to be an organ donor so her love and caring will continue even after her passing. Holly did not want a funeral. She wants all her friends and family not to focus on what is lost but on the memories of the times they shared together. Continue to love and support each other.

Holly’s legacy is one of kindness, service and steadfast love for all. She touched countless lives and her lovable sprit will be deeply missed.
