Obituary

James Hunter Custard, 90, passed away peacefully Saturday December 2, 2023 while staying with his son and family in Maryland.

Jim served in the United States Coast Guard from 1952 to 1954 and served in the reserve. He was a charter member of Echo Valley Hunt Club, a founding and life time member of the NRA Shenandoah Valley. A member of the Quarter Horse Association and raised horses for many years. Jim was a faithful man and enjoyed life. He retired from E.I. DuPont Company.

He was born to the late Hunter Fauber and to the late Amy Wisely Custard on June 6, 1933, also preceding him in death is his wife Martha Blair Miller Custard; son, Robert Hunter Custard.

Surviving him are his son Steve Custard and his wife Terri; granddaughter, Megan; grandson, Robert Custard; brother, William "Bill" Custard and wife Amanda; sister, Betty Payne.

A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday December 9, 2023 at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church Cemetery officiated by Reverend Ron Mateer.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests you give to a charity of your choice.
