James Curtis "Jim" Wise, 81, of Waynesboro, Virginia passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2023 at The Retreat at Fishersville.  Jim endured a long battle with Parkinsonism and Lewy Body Dementia.  He was born July 17, 1941 at Fort Monroe, VA, the son of the late Bennie and Thelma (Sexton) Wise.  Jim was a loving and devoted husband, father and son.  He enjoyed a lifetime career in bank marketing and volunteered his time to many organizations.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Geoffrey Stafford Wise.  Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Jerra Barksdale Wise; two daughters, Benée Wise Curtis (Chris) of Houston, TX and Micheline Wise Williams (Robert) of Moorefield, WV; grandchildren Graham, Ewan and Callum Curtis and James, Elizabeth and Geoffrey Williams.

There will be a celebration of life service on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Patrick Ryan officiating.  Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, VA.
