Janie Carolyn "MiMi" Snead, 80, a resident of Crimora, VA, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025 at her home.

She was born March 26, 1945 in Winston Salem, NC, a daughter of the late Frederick Eugene Chappell and Sara Reba (Osborne) Chappell.

She was retired after 20 years from Data Visible Records. After retiring, she took care of her grandkids for many years.

Mrs. Snead held many things dear to her, but none closer than caring for her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Peggy Truslow, Helen Newman, and Janice Hite; 3 brothers, Bill Chappell, Ben Chappell, and Bud Chappell.

Surviving are her loving husband of 60+ years, Roger L. Snead; sons, Michael W. Snead and wife Amy W. Snead, Christopher E. Snead, Travis L. Snead and wife Tonya Snead; grandchildren, Tayler Crum, Mackenzie Eavey, Ryan Durrette Snead, Ty Snead, Schyler Snead, Kaitlyn Paige Snead, and Ayden Snead; great-grandchildren, Parker Durrette Snead, Mackson Crum, Miller Crum, Hadleigh Eavey, and Hudson Eavey.

Family and friends may gather to celebrate the life of Mrs. Snead on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Parkway Wesleyan Church, 1987 Springhill Road, Staunton, VA 24401.
