Jason Edward Fretwell 43, went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 10, 2021.
Jason was a loving husband, devoted father, one-of-a-kind son, loving brother, devoted nephew, and an all-around family man, and was loved by his whole community.
Jason did not know a stranger, he made everyone feel like family, as well as he loved to make people laugh with his silly jokes, faces, and pranks. Most of all Jason was a man of faith, loved church, was hard-working, enjoyed everything about Virginia Tech especially the sports, wrestling, football, softball, working on vehicles, and animals.
Out of everything, he loved watching his kids play sports and grow. He would lay down his life for his family and anyone else.
He was born on September 26, 1978 to Jeffrey and Blandean Price Fretwell, in addition he is pre-deceased by his grandparents Harold and Louise Fretwell, Father Jeffrey L. Fretwell, Father-in-law Rudy K. Matland Jr.
Surviving him are his wife of 17 years, Amanda; sons Dakoda (Amanda M.) and Chase; daughter Megan; mother, Blandean Fretwell; brother Christopher L. Fretwell (Brandi); mother-in-law Tammy C.; grandparents Roy Price (OK) & Helen Price; sisters-in-laws and brother-in-laws, aunts, uncles on both sides, nephews, nieces, a special niece Taylor Fretwell who had a part in bringing Jason and Amanda together, cousins, and many special friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 18, 2021 in Rankin Creek Church Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Ronnie Harris and Pastor Kevin Harris, Eulogy read by Ceasar Wheeler. Pallbearers will be Tommy Taylor, Jamie Gibson, Dakoda Moore, Chase Fretwell, Chris Fretwell, Scott Campbell, Kevin Harris, Ray Hailey, Justin Hutchinson, Shane Coffey and Mike Connalee. Honorary pallbearer will be Coach Tom Goforth.
In lieu of flowers please donate in his name to the American Heart Association.
