Joanne (Harris) Yancey, 78, a resident of Waynesboro, VA, passed away Saturday November 26, 2022 at her home.

She was born June 26, 1944 in Waynesboro, a daughter of the late George H. Harris and Sally (McDaniel) Harris.

She was retired from the Waynesboro City Schools.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jimmy and Roger Harris.

Surviving are her loving husband of 59 years, Howard M. Yancey, Jr. of Waynesboro, VA; 2 sons, Darryl S. Yancey of Waynesboro, VA and Michael Yancey and his wife Jane of Montpelier, VA; 2 grandchildren, Bryce and Madison Yancey, both of Richmond, VA; sister, Mary Ramsey and her husband Junior Ramsey of Stuarts Draft, VA; sisters-in-law, Connie Harris and Debbie Yancey, both of Waynesboro, VA.

As were her wishes, all services will be private.
