John B (Brad) Stevens, Sr, 76, passed away May 12, 2024, at his home in Waynesboro. He's the son of the late Frank G. Stevens Jr, and the late Mildred G. Stevens, both from Waynesboro. He's also preceded in death; his wife Linda A. Stevens, his step mother Laura L Stevens, both from Waynesboro, and his step sister, Judy Weakley of Mechanicsburg, PA.
He's graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1966. He worked for DuPont for 34 years. He's a lifetime member of the Waynesboro First Aid Crew, and a former member of Preston L. Yancey Volunteer Fire Company. He also was active in Scouting in the 70s and early 80s, and coached numerous baseball teams.
He's survived by a son, John B. (J.B.) Stevens Jr., and wife Vickie, of Waynesboro, a daughter, Judith B. (Missy) Cave, and husband Chris, of Staunton, Grandchildren Katelyn Miller (Josh), of Crawfordsville, IN, Matthew Fitzgerald (Heather) of Stuarts Draft, Christopher Fitzgerald (Meah) of Waynesboro, Heather Marise of Lewisburg, TN, Charles Schartiger of Staunton, Meghan Hansbrough (Tim) of Stuarts Draft, 7 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and by people that were very close to him, Jay, Melissa, and Peyton Pack of Christiansburg, VA, and Juanita Felts of Johnson City, TN.
Family will receive friends between 5-7 pm Friday, May 17, at McDow Funeral Home, with a graveside service at Riverview Cemetery at 11am, Saturday, May 18.
