Joseph Andrew Sullivan

Joseph Andrew Sullivan, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at his home at Birch Gardens in Fishersville, VA.

He was born January 8, 1940, in Charlottesville, VA, son of the late Joseph Ira and Agnes (Wade) Sullivan.

Joe was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed a lengthy retirement after his career at Dupont in Waynesboro.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Curtis Sullivan; a granddaughter, Cynthia Sullivan; and three sisters, Louise Collier, Josie Shifflett, and Linda Turner.

He is survived by his wife, Lillie W. Sullivan; son, Keith Sullivan and his wife Amanda, and their children, Curtis Sullivan, Catherine Sullivan, and Clayton Sullivan; son, Kevin Sullivan and his children, Meghan Sullivan, Matthew Sullivan and his wife Brenda, and Rebekah Sullivan; and several great grandchildren that he loved dearly.

Visitation will be at McDow Funeral Home in Waynesboro on Monday, June 22, 2026, 3pm-4pm.

The family would like to extend a special word of thanks to the staff at Birch Gardens in Fishersville and the staff at Hospice of the Shenandoah for their loving and professional care and compassion for Joe, Lillie and their entire family.
