Joyce Ann Cook, 80, a resident of The Retreat At Fishersville, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024. The world got a little darker, and Heaven got a little brighter.

She was born April 8,1944 in Radford, Virginia, a daughter of the late Dennis and Leona (Painter) Brown and grew up in New Hope.

She worked at Klann Organ and later with at Virginia National Bank (Bank of America) for 40 years.

Joyce was an avid reader and a wonderful cook.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Wanda Morris and Sandy Puckett.

Surviving are her husband Ronald  L. Cook of Fishersville; son, Gary Cook and his wife Laurie of Churchville, Virginia; 2 grandchildren, Kelsey VanBuren and her husband Hunter, Nicholas Cook and wife Maddie; 2 great-grandchildren, Bryson and Grayson VanBuren; and brothers-in-law, Donnie Puckett and family; David Campbell and family. Also Taulsa Cook and family and numerous cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, August 22, 2024 in Augusta Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor Ely Guzman.
