Judy Adrienne (McDowell) Floyd

Judy Adrienne (McDowell) Floyd, 76, passed away on Thursday October 8, 2026.

She was born March 11, 1950, daughter of the late Lawrence S. McDowell and Bessie R. McDowell of Waynesboro, Virginia.

She graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelors Degree, and Blue Ridge Community College Summa Cum Laude with an A.S.A. Degree. She was a member of the Honor Society while attending.

Her parents were the original owners of Augusta Memorial Park, where Judy retired. She also worked for the Social Security Administration. She did the props back stage for the Waynesboro Players for decades, where she made lifelong friends. Judy also volunteered for Hospice of the Piedmont for many years. She enjoyed reading books and watching her favorite tv shows.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry McDowell.

Surviving are her loving husband, Robert E. “Bobby” Floyd; brother, Reid McDowell and his wife Ann; sister, Sue Markley and David Ostrander; son, Gary Scott Bartley and his wife Amy; step-daughter, Robin Campbell and husband Troy, and step-daughter, Sarah E. Floyd; step-son, Matthew S. Floyd; granddaughter, Simmone Campbell; grandson, Logan E. Floyd; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She loved them all.

There will be no services and burial will be private.

Thanks to a loving family for their support during her illness, especially Sue, Scotty, Amy, and Mickey. Thanks for the help. Also, thanks to Hospice of the Piedmont for their good care.
