Kenneth Franklin Fainter

Kenneth Franklin Fainter, age 94, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026. Born on June 27, 1932, he was the son of Lewis and Mary Fainter of Midvale, VA in Rockbridge County.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Pack Fainter; special life partner, Annie Finley; brothers, Robert Fainter, Leonard Fainter, and Charlie Fainter; sisters, Mary Kimble, Anna Chapin, and Hilda Fainter; and sister-in-law, Agnes Fainter.

Ken is survived by his son, Bruce Fainter (Donna Mitchell); brother, William Fainter (Linda); sisters-in-law, Jane Fainter, and Leah Pack; numerous nieces, nephew; and special friends, Michele MacWelch and Dee MacWelch.

Ken served two years in the United States Navy followed by twenty years in the United States Air Force. He retired from the USAF as a staff sergeant. He retired from civilian employment from FMC/Rexnord in Stuarts Draft after twenty years

The family will receive friends at McDow Funeral Home on Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 5:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M.

Burial and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, P.O. Box 937, Verona, VA 24482 or Grottoes Community Food Pantry, 200 Augusta Avenue, Grottoes, VA 24441.
