Lois Kennedy Simmons, 90, passed away peacefully Friday July, 11, 2025 in Fishersville, Virginia.

Born on December 25, 1934 to the late John Bowman and the late Annie Catherine Wine Kennedy in Crimora, Virginia. She had two brothers; John Wallace Kennedy, Glenn Calvin Kennedy and a sister Gladys Isabell Willberger who preceded her in death.

Lois was a member of the Crimora Nurturing Life Church. She graduated from Wilson Memorial High School and worked at several businesses but her true calling was being a Teacher's Aid in the Augusta county School system helping at Verona, Crimora and Stuarts Draft schools. Lois loved watching her game shows, sporting events, grand kids and taking care of her flower garden. She really enjoyed the Sunday family brunches and loved to cook.

Survivors include daughters; Teresa Simmons Stewart and husband David, Wanda Simmons Ellinger and husband Jim; grandchildren/great-grandchildren, Daniel Stewart (Jasmine), Caedan Good, Finley Sheffer, Wesley Stewart, Sarah Bryant (Lee), Ryan Snyder, Austin Bryant, Caleb Stewart (Liz), Ezra Bernardo-Stewart; step grandchildren/ step great grandchildren, Chad Ellinger (Kascie), Morgan Ellinger, Tripp Ellinger, Adam Ellinger (Kristie), Wyatt Ellinger, Maggie Ellinger and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Thursday July 17, 2025 at McDow Funeral Home.

A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday July 18, 2025 at Augusta Memorial Park officiated by Pastor Wm. David Stewart. Active Pallbearers will be Daniel Stewart, Caleb Stewart, Lee Bryant, Ryan Snyder, Chad Ellinger and Adam Ellinger.
