It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lois Frances Taylor, who passed away at her
home on September 12, at the age of 80.
She was born on December 5, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Jesse and Zelda Handy.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Handy, Woodrow Mouberry, Thomas
Mouberry; and a sister, Myrtlene Mouberry Shifflett.
Frances retired from Kroger in Waynesboro. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of
the Brethren.
She was a woman of strength, determination, and resilience. Her life took many paths, and along
the way, she built a blended family that came together through shared experiences, growth, and
time.
She is survived by her partner, Chester Alford of Waynesboro; her son, Adrian Neeper and his
wife Angela of Waynesboro; her grandchildren, Trevor Neeper of Waynesboro and Tori Smith
and her husband, Deryck, of Staunton; her great granddaughter, Emory Neeper; her niece, Misty
Gillenwater of Tionesta, PA, who was like a daughter to her and her husband Ruben, their
children, Julian and his wife Destiny, and Christian Gillenwater of Tionesta, PA; Chester's son,
Chester Jr. and his partner, Amber, of Waynesboro; his children, Colton, Michaela, and Adalee
Alford. She also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews, other family and many friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Holly
Memorial Gardens, 3251 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville. Serving as active pallbearers will be,
Trevor Neeper, Chester Jr. Alford, Deryck Smith, Ruben Gillenwater, Julian Gillenwater,
Christian Gillenwater and Jimmy Bell.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at
McDow Funeral Home, 1701 W Main Street, Waynesboro.
