Loretta June Archer, 78, a resident of Waynesboro, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at her home.

She was born November 14, 1945 in Oak Hill, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Alvin Harrison Ellison and Ethel Marie (Campbell) Ellison.

She was a faithful Christian who loved attending church, the Senior Center, and singing, and spending time with her family in West Virginian and Virginia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Phillip Campbell; 5 brothers, Melvin L. "Sonny" Ellison, Robert Ellison, Sr., Charles Ellison, James Ray Ellison, and Ricky Lynn Ellison; 4 sisters, Ruby Jean Rose, Linda C. Selke, Judy K. Helton, and Natella G. Archer.

Surviving are her son, James Campbell, Jr.; daughters, Terry Painter and Karen Ashby; 4 grandchildren, Christopher "Dillion" Campbell, Kandace Campbell, Kendall Campbell, and Erika Ashby; 2 great-grandchildren, Kylin Spears and Layla Lazier; brothers, Alvin Ellison and Jennings "Kent" Ellison; sister, Joetta McBride; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday, January 13, 2024 at McDow Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held following at 2:00 PM in the chapel, officiated by Jennings "Kent" Ellison.
