Obituary

Lorine B. Zimmerman, 95, passed away to be with the Lord Friday, November 6, 2020.  She was born March 21, 1925 in Harriston, VA.  She is the daughter of Kenneth Riley and Ada Belle Claytor.  Lorine is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Tom F. Zimmerman; four brothers, Edward L. Claytor, Harry O. Claytor, Andrew S. Claytor and Oscar B. Claytor; and four sisters, Edna E. Claytor, Virginia Matthew, Hazel McCauley and Gladys Martin.  She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Z. Shapiro and Lewis N. Shapiro, respectively.  Nancy and Lewis lovingly cared for her for many years until the time of passing.  She is survived by one sister, Erma C. Morris of Waynesboro, VA.

Lorine, fondly referred to as 'Rene' will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her sister and best friend, Erma C. Morris.  'Rene' will be profoundly missed by her nieces, Lorie M. Smith, husband, Robert and children, Kyle and Lauren of Moneta, VA., as well as, Gailen M. Yancey and husband Stephen, Waynesboro, VA., and children, Hunter, Richmond, VA. and Witt, Lynchburg, VA. She will also be dearly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Lorine was a beloved member of Stuarts Draft Baptist Church.  Lorine's church family was so important to her.  She loved her friends in Christ.

Lorine enjoyed a full life centered around her family, church and friends.  She and her sister, Erma, were inseparable and so enjoyed their lunches out and shopping.  Most of all, her daughter, Nancy, was her pride and joy. There was nothing more important to this special lady than family.

A graveside service will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2179 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft, VA on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. Interim Pastor Billy Coffey will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Lewis Shapiro, Robert Smith, Stephen Yancey, Hunter Yancey, Witt Yancey and George Kennedy. Friends and family are invited. Face coverings will be required per COVID guidelines.
