Marian J. Calder, 89, of Waynesboro, VA, died Wednesday, August 25, 2021.

She was born January 21, 1932 in Lawrenceville, VA, the daughter of Robert Jefferson Jones and Marian Nelson Jones.

With Stanley, her loving husband of 53 years, Marian put her family first, supporting and encouraging their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their families in every aspect of their lives.

Through her faith in God, Marian always gave her incredible mind, heart and soul to helping others. Marian's passion for social ministry inspired her to make a significant impact with CROP, Meals on Wheels, St John's Human Concerns, Christmas Baskets, Clothes Closet ministries and anyone in need. Marian is a shining example of a life well-lived providing us with faith, wisdom and never-ending love.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her daughter, Mary Katherine, son-in-law, Glenn Harbula, grandchildren Stephanie Calder and Daniel Calder, her brother, Robert Jones and his wife, Patricia, and her sister-in-law, Annie Leigh Jones.

Marian is survived by her children: John (Julie) Calder, Steve Calder, Beth Harbula, Bob (Caroline) Calder, David (Kate) Calder, Susan (Lee) Schifer; grandchildren: David (Kim) Calder; Jacqui Calder; Katie (Jon) Cin, Keith, Kevin, Kenny Harbula; Cameron, Margaret, Alex Calder; Loren Calder; Chris, Jessica, Mikaela (Nick) Spivey, Peter, Zoe Schifer; great-grandchildren: Shelby, Chase Calder; Lane, Everly Cin; brother Tom Jones, and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 3, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Waynesboro.  Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at St. John's.
