Mary Dullaghan
Miller
Sep 16, 1963 — Apr 4, 2023
Waynesboro
Mary Dullaghan Miller, age 59, passed away Tuesday April 4th, 2023. She was born on September 16th, 1963. She was the daughter of the late Matthew E. Dullaghan and the late Mildred H.("Mim") Dullaghan of Waynesboro, Virginia.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and by her paternal aunt Jane E. Dullaghan and her maternal aunts Elizabeth Boyens, Kathleen Kirk Maloney, and Elinor Giblin.
Survivors include her husband John Miller, daughter Christine Miller, daughter Jaclyn McKean and her husband Brandon McKean, son John Miller and his wife Ashley Miller, her daughter of the heart Holly Peck and her husband Dave Peck, her eldest brother Matthew Dullaghan and his wife Victoria Dullaghan, youngest brother Michael Dullaghan, cousin Eileen Sullivan and her husband Jack Sullivan, cousin Dr. Paul Giblin and his wife Mimi Giblin, and cousin Greta Mickey. She is also survived by her niece Dr. Katherine S. Dullaghan, nephew Matthew P. Dullaghan, and grandchildren Eleanor E. Peck, Rosie S. Peck, and Issac W. McKean.
Mary was an alumna of Brandywine High School in Wilmington, Delaware, where she made many friends. She met the love of her life John Miller as a freshman at Virginia Tech. She graduated from Virginia Tech in 1985, and the two were married soon after graduating. Mary received her Master's in Teaching from Mary Baldwin College while raising her children. She taught preschool for a number of years and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. After teaching, Mary retired to, in her words, "become a full-time Gaga."
Mary always considered her family to be her greatest joy and her children her greatest accomplishments. Family, friends, love, and kindness were at the center of everything she did. She was a selfless individual who thought nothing of taking the time to help others. Mary often had to be reminded by her family to take time for herself, but she wouldn't rest until those she cared about had the support and help they needed. She was a constant source of compassion, understanding, patience, and love. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, Gaga, and friend. She was our strongest advocate, role model, confidant, and best friend. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, brothers, niece, and nephew, cousins, and friends with every fiber of her being. A true angel on Earth, she will be sorely missed.
The funeral service will be a private family affair.
Visitation is on April 12th, 2023 from 5pm-7pm at McDow Funeral Home, Waynesboro, Virginia.
