Melissa Dawn Henderson Johnson "MelJ", 52, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday January 28, 2023. She was met at the gates of heaven by her family that preceded her.

Born on April 26, 1970 she was the daughter of the late Buddy Henderson and Sylvia (Hignight) Henderson of Waynesboro.

Melissa never met a stranger and was always helping anyone that needed her. She will be remembered for her fun loving nature, beautiful blue eyes and an amazing smile.

Melissa was preceded in death by her father Buddy Henderson; son, Travis Michael Johnson; brother, Ricky Henderson; sister, Donna Fisher; grandmother, Mary Roberson and great grandmother Sylvia Key.

Survivors include mother Sylvia Henderson; daughter, Amber (Sissy) N. Johnson; sister, Sue Brubaker and husband David; brothers, Gary Wayne Bradley, Paul Bradley, Tracey Bradley, Chris Henderson and wife Katie, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. February 1, 2023 at McDow Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Stuarts Draft (beside the Cheese shop in S.D.) officiated by Pastor Charles Perkins.
