Melvin Edward Twitchell, Jr., 88, a resident of Waynesboro, VA, passed away Monday December 28, 2020.

A son of the late Melvin and Emily (Swortzel) Twitchell, he was born November 11, 1932 in Stuarts Draft, VA.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving his country faithfully in the U.S. Navy.

After 36 years, he retired from Lehigh Cement. He drove for various trucking companies.

Mr. Twitchell had a love for lawn care, and was always very meticulous in his work. He was an avid collector of antiques, including many types of dishes and Carnival Glass.

Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Cleo Twitchell of Waynesboro; daughters, Debbie Henderson and husband Ron of Lyndhurst, VA, Teresa Reese and husband Paul of Hercules, CA, and Tina Twitchell of Schuyler, VA; wife's sons, Mark Haynes of Doomes, VA and Jeffrey Haynes and wife Vivian of Sarasota, FL; his grandchildren, Sonny Brooks and wife Sherry, Todd Brooks and wife Amy, Nathan Brooks and wife Amber, and Shane Sheffield; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Mike Twitchell and wife Bootsie of Stuarts Draft, VA; sister, Judy Joseph and husband Paul of Appomattox, VA.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday January 2, 2021 in Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery, conducted by Pastor Frank Hall.
