Mercedes "Mercy" (Monson) Kelley, 93, formerly of Virginia Beach, passed away Friday December 4, 2020 at The Retreat at Fishersville.
A daughter of the late Peter and Mercedes Monson, she was born April 14, 1927 in Weehawken, NJ.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. Mercy was involved in numerous mission trips to Haiti and dedicated to the hospital and orphanage there.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Joseph Kelley, Sr.
Surviving are her sons, Shaun M. Kelley (Sue), William Kelley (Sue), Kevin P. Kelley, and Timothy P. Kelley (Michelle); daughter, Erin M. Kelley; grandchildren, Michael (Kendel), Katie (A.C.), Kristin (Matt), Meara, Adrienne (Matt), Kyle (Hannah), Ian (Morgan), Meghan (Adam), Brandon, and Robbie; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Wiswesser; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Muriel Simpson.
A special thank you to all of the staff and residents of The Retreat of Fishersville for their kind and loving care extended to mom.
